Author's Note: I know its been months since I last updated this story but I been so focused on 'That taste of blood' trilogy that I've lost interest in this story yet, thank goodness I've gained it back. So here is chapter 8
Chapter 8: Catering to Tyler
Me, Tyler, and Ellis were riding in Tyler's car on our way to their sister's house.
He didn't seem excited but he didn't seem so down about it.
"I think you'll like her." Ellis said.
"What's she's like?"
"She was always very shy. Cruel towards me and Tyler but I guess that's the whole…brother and sister rivalry thing.
She's very pretty, smart as I can remember and she used to be a huge Spongebob fan." Ellis said.
"Besides that," Tyler began, "She was all about curiosity. Everyone loves her. She's nice. She's just….her. She also said she has a surprise for us." Tyler said looking over at Ellis.
Ellis stared straight ahead.
Hmm. Wonder what it can be.
I stared out the window at the palm trees and the huge buildings. It was amazing. I smiled at the people and cars that passed . I was suddenly excited.
Tyler pulled up to a white and grey house. It was huge. Her and her boyfriend must be doing extremely well.
I'm glad that even after what happened, she's living a good life.
Tyler parked the car in the extended driveway and sighed. "Ready for everything." He muttered under his breath.
Ellis got out of the car first and then me, and then Tyler.
"Was this the surprise?" Tyler asked looking up at the house.
"Maybe." Ellis said. He pulled me by his side and I followed along with him and we walked up the stairs to the door of the house that was way bigger than mine.
Tyler rung the doorbell and it took about a few seconds before it opened.
A short girl, with long, dark hair and brown eyes peeked out the door and smiled widely. "Tyler?"
He nodded and gave her a genuine smile.
Her eyes watered up as she hugged him. "Oh." She squeezed him tightly. And cried onto his chest.
She soon released him and looked to Ellis who smiled at her.
She playfully punched him and then hugged him.
Ellis hugged her back and closed his eyes. "I missed you." He whispered.
She nodded. "I missed you too." She whispered back.
He released her and she looked at me. "Whose this?"
"My girlfriend." Ellis said.
She held out her hand. "I'm Natalie."
"I'm Karlie." I said shaking her hand.
She smiled and nodded. "Well let's go inside so you guys can meet my boyfriend and so I can show you the surprise.
We all followed her inside her home and it was beautiful inside.
She led us all in and I closed the door and followed them.
We walked up a set of wooden stairs and was led down a hallway.
She knocked on some double doors and a man told her to come in.
She opened the doors and we walked into a bedroom. A master bedroom.
A handsome man with black hair and an arrogant smile looked up at us from looking down at his laptop.
"Hi, honey." She said walking towards him.
He stood to his feet and smiled as he kissed her and then walked towards us. "You're Tyler, and Ellis." He said. Ellis shook his hand and the man held out his hand for Tyler and Tyler just looked down at it.
He looked back at Natalie. "The brother with the attitude no doubt." Then he looked at me. "And this is?"
"My girlfriend, Karlie." Ellis said.
He smiled. "Ah," He took my hand and kissed it. "Vous êtes très belle" He smiled.
"Oh um….thank…you?" I said. He chuckled and nodded. "Well make yourself at home. And Natalie will hopefully start dinner soon?" He asked looking back at her.
He smiled. "Great." I moved aside as he walked out of the room and downstairs.
Tyler looked to him. "He's a prick. Where's the surprise?" He asked.
She rolled her eyes and gestured for us to follow her.
She led us down the hallway and downstairs again.
"Is this surprise a good surprise or will it piss me off?" Tyler asked.
Natalie didn't answer as she led us to a door.
She opened the door slowly and we all looked around.
It was a little boy's room.
Blue carpet, wooden canopy. Wooden dresser and a toy box. But it looked like it hasn't been used for years. And on the bed, was a boy. Looked to be sixteen.
He looked up at us.
He kinda looked just like Natalie.
"This is Michael." Natalie said.
"That's your son?" Ellis asked.
Ellis looked down to the floor.
Tyler's eyes grew wide in horror. "That's…." Tyler sucked in a breath and walked away.
"What?" I'm the only person who didn't catch on.
Natalie sighed and shook her head. "What's going on mom?" The boy asked.
Ellis put a hand on Natalie's shoulder. "We didn't know."
She shrugged. "I had to keep him, I didn't know what else to do." She said. Then she glanced over at where Tyler disappeared.
She shut Michael's door and ran after Tyler.
Ellis looked down at me. "That's my…brother…and….nephew." He whispered.
"She got pregnant with my stepfather's baby and she left before telling us."
I bit my lip and looked down.
How was anyone supposed to respond to that?
"Oh my god." I whispered.
"I don't know what to say to him."
Ellis stared at the door before opening it.
As the door opened, the boy looked back up and looked irritated.
Ellis walked in and I walked in after him.
I don't know why I was so nervous. It wasn't like he was my nephew.
The boy's eyebrows pulled together. "Who the hell are you?" He asked.
"Watch your mouth." Ellis said.
The boy scoffed then looked at me. "She's hot. Is she yours?" He asked Ellis.
Ellis rolled his eyes and sighed. Then he turned to me. "This is going to be harder than I thought."
I pushed him forward. "You'll be fine. Just try to get to know him."
Ellis looked back to Michael and let out another sigh. "Uh…Michael-"
"Call me Mike." He said as if Ellis was mentally challenged.
Ellis nodded. "Mike…I'm Ellis, your uncle and this," He pulled me to his side. "Is my girlfriend, Karlie."
Michael winked at me and it made me uncomfortable.
"I'm going to go check on your sister while you get bonded." I said. I turned and started walking out.
"Come back soon hot stuff." Mike said.
Not only perverted but corny too.
I giggled at it rather than got embarrassed.
I continued walking out and walked through the hall. The hallways were huge.
Huger than my whole house.
As I entered a light blue room, I saw Natalie crying on the couch.
I walked down one step and walked into the room.
She turned to look at me, her face scrunched up as she continued crying.
"Hey," I walked to her and sat next to her on the couch.
She wiped her tears with the back of her hand and sniffed.
I wasn't going to ask the obvious "Are you okay" because she obviously wasn't.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't be crying in front of guest." She laughed and sniffed.
"It's your house, that's perfectly fine."
She ran her fingers through her dark hair. "Tyler is a stubborn son of a bitch, huh?" She asked laughing again.
I nodded. "Very."
"I knew he'd be upset….I just hope he comes back because I really missed him."
"I'm sure he will. He may be an asshole but he'd never actually leave you. I could tell he really cares about you, Natalie."
"He has a funny-ass way of showing it." She sniffed again.
She wiped her eyes. "I'm sorry to bring my problems about while you're hear. I shouldn't have dropped the surprise like that."
"You wanted them to meet your son. That was your choice."
She shrugged. "None of this wouldn't have happened if I would have fought my step dad when he-" She paused and looked down to the floor.
"I went through the same thing." I blurted out.
Why do I keep doing that?
Natalie stared at me. "Really? But you seem so…nice."
I giggled. "Yeah…on the outside but…sometimes people push to my bad side which is there because of my step dad. But I don't see this as a bad thing. I see it as a good thing. An opportunity to let your brothers tell you about how their lives been and you tell them how yours has been and your son's."
Natalie nodded. "You're right."
I shrugged. "I try to be."
She laughed softly and stood to her feet.
She was very pretty, especially with the sun shining in, making her hair look lighter than it was and brightening her eyes.
"Well, the chef will make dinner soon. Hopefully Tyler will join us soon."
I nodded. "I'll make sure he does."
She smiled. "Thank you so much, Karlie."
I smiled back at her and she leaned down and gave me a hug before scurrying off.
I took a deep breath before standing to my feet and walking towards the door.
I hope Ellis is getting along with his nephew.
I opened the door and saw from a yard away, Tyler sitting on his car.
I took another breath and went to him.
As I got closer, I saw him eyeing my every move and it made me nervous.
"What do you want?"
"You to not treat your sister like she's the worst person in the world."
He scoffed. "No. She only lied about her having a child by my step dad."
"She was scared, Tyler."
His eyebrows furrowed. "I'm sure she was. And because she was, she should have trusted that her big brother would have done something."
"You would have told her to get rid of it and maybe she wasn't ready."
"You know nothing about me, Karlie."
"I know that you purposely put on these asshole antics to hide the real you."
"The real me-"
"Gives a fuck about people." I finished.
"You hate me."
I shook my head. "I use to. But I don't anymore. I see how you are now."
He gave me a look. "So what? Do I go in there and pretend to be happy?"
"No. You just have to be there."
He looked at the house and then back at me. "More points for you." He said as he got off of the car.
I raised my eyebrow. What did that mean? 'More points for you'
"What do you mean?" I asked.
Tyler ran his fingers through his tousled hair and turned to look at me. "You know I still want you and you just gave me more reason to like you. You look at the brighter side of shit and….I like that." He turned around and walked back toward the house.
I swallowed and looked down at the freshly cut grass.
I know that Tyler's feelings for me are just a game.
He just wants to have sex with me.
At the end of the day, none of it is truthful.
Which is why I can't trust him one hundred percent like I wish to.
As night time arrived, we all sat around the table. Ellis to my right. Tyler to my left. Across the table, Natalie to the left of Michael and her boyfriend to the right of him.
The chef served us food and I began to dig into the pot roast.
"So, Ellis, what are you doing?" Natalie asked.
Ellis looked up from his food. "Eating."
Natalie giggled. "No, I mean for living."
"Oh, car salesman at Ginny's auto shop."
"Uncle Larry's dream." She said nodding.
He nodded. "Yeah, where is he anyway?"
"I think somewhere in Philadelphia. At least that's what I've heard. Still crazy as ever."
"I heard." Ellis said chuckling.
"What about you, Karlie?" Her boyfriend asked.
I swallowed. Oh damn.
Tyler leaned over. "You can tell them."
I looked to him and he nodded encouragingly.
Hopefully they won't judge me.
"Well, I'm a stripper." I said.
Natalie's eyebrows raised and her boyfriend looked weirdly fascinated. Michael chuckled. "Hot."
I sat back in embarrassment as my cheeks burned red.
"And there's nothing wrong with that." Ellis said.
"Of course not. I don't judge and neither does Akim. Do you….honey?" Natalie asked
He shook his head. "Course not. What could be more flattering than a girl dancing half naked for money?"
Natalie glared at him and I sunk into my seat. I should have kept my mouth shut.
"That probably gives blowjobs." Michael finished and Natalie hit him on the back of his head.
"That's not in the job description you little shit." Tyler said bitterly.
Michael rubbed the back of his head and looked at me.
"I should go….to the bathroom." I said as I got up.
I just needed some time alone.
I found my way to the bathroom and I shut the door as I let myself in.
I felt weirdly emotional. Must about to be that time of month again. Shit. That means no sex. Not that I was getting much anyway since the incident in the alley of the club.
There was a knock at the door and I kept my mouth shut until the person would leave.
But it opened and Tyler walked in.
He stared at me for a little before coming in and shutting the door.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
Tyler leaned against the door. "Look, fuck what they say out there. You're not just some slutty ass stripper. You're more than that and I want you to know that." He said.
I nodded. "Thank you." I whisper.
He nods and grabs a few pieces of tissue from the roll and wipes my tears away.
I watch him as he does it and I swallow cautiously.
He's too close.
I bite my lip.
He stares into my eyes and sighs.
"What?" I asked.
"I wish I could tell you."
"What is it?"
He shakes his head. "It's nothing. Just a fucked up moment of weakness."
Tyler stepped back and leaned against the door once again, watching me.
I finished wiping my eyes and I stood back and looked to Tyler.
He sighs before opening the door. "You look great tonight…..just for you to know."
I give him a smile but he doesn't smile back.
He disappears out of the door and shuts it.
I wipe my tears from my face and try to fix my appearance. I'm okay. I'm okay.
I got to the door and open it where I'm face-to-face with Natalie.
"Hey…." She said looking at me weirdly.
I'm confused at first but then I understood her misinterpretation when she saw Tyler walk out of a closed room where I was.
"He was just cheering me up."
She slowly nodded. "Okay, I just wanted to apologize on behalf of Akim and son."
"It's fine. I said too much. My fault."
She shook her head. "Their not prejudice against strippers."
She followed me back to the table where I sat back down and looked to Ellis.
"You okay?" He mouthed.
I nodded and was sure not to meet the gazes of Michael or Akim.
After dinner was desert where Akim was drunkenly talking about a trip to California….which is where we are.
But he wasn't the only drunk person.
I looked to my left at Tyler who is staring at me. His eyes heavy lidded.
"You should go rest." I whisper.
He shakes his head and shuts his eyes. "Nooo-I'm finnnee here."
I nodded and looked to Ellis.
He wasn't completely shit-faced like everyone else but he was close.
Only me, Michael and Natalie were sober.
Natalie shook her head and stood to her feet and placed her napkin on the table.
"Alright, come on, honey." She grabbed Akim by his arms and pulled him back. He gave a drunk smile and waved at the wall and then stared singing in a language I haven't heard before.
Natalie looked to her son. "Bed. Now."
He sighed and stood up. He gave me a stomach churning grin as he got up and disappeared upstairs.
"Guys, I have a lot of room here. You can stay the night." She says.
That's awesome. Now neither of my companions have to drive drunk.
"Guestrooms are down the hall and make a right. There's only two."
I nodded and stood up.
Ellis got up.
He was about to grab Tyler but surely Tyler would hate for Ellis of all people to help him. Plus Ellis wasn't that much better off.
"Go to bed, I'll be there soon." I said.
He nodded and turned without a word.
Natalie had Akim on the second stair and it doesn't look like she was getting any further than that with how he was moving.
"Need help?" I asked.
She shook her head. "Take care of Tyler. I got Akim."
I nodded and then grabbed Tyler who looked up at me sleepily.
"Come on." I whisper as I attempted to get him up.
He gave a small drunk smile that….kinda….had my heart melt.
I know…odd how I can find a drunk smile attractive.
I put my strength into it as I lifted him from the chair.
He stumbles and holds onto me.
He raises his eyebrow and give me a perfect smile.
I pull him along and straight to the bathroom where I splash water on his face.
He doesn't react to it at all.
As I grab a towel to dry off his face, he grabs my wrist and stare at me.
"You are sooooo pretty." He whispered.
I nodded to play along. "You are too, Tyler."
He bobs his head back and forth and laughs. "Don't I fuuuucking know it?" He stumbles into the door and then through the hall where I follow him.
He opens the door to a vacant, dimly lit room with a huge bed with green covers and black carpet. It fits him for some reason.
He walks in and nods. He unbuttons his black shirt and pulls it off and leaves it on the floor as he lays on the bed.
I go and take off his boots and line them up against the wall by the window.
I look at him for a second longer than I should and then I go towards the door.
"Wait." He groaned.
I turned to look at him.
"Come…here." He mumbled.
I looked at the door and then back to him and I went to stand by the bed looking down at him. "Yeah?"
"Lay with me."
"Lay…just until I…fall asleep." He said in a tired voice.
Ellis will be angry about this.
Tyler is beyond drunk and if I leave who knows what he might do.
Or am I just making excuses just to be near him?
No. I hope I'm not growing feelings for him because that will ruin a lot.
After taking my heels off, I climb into the bed making sure to keep my distance.
But not for long as Tyler makes me turn to face him and pulls me against him with my leg hitched over the side of his thigh and it makes my dress rise up.
It happened out of nowhere. It was almost….erotic.
I felt him getting hard, against me.
I think he pulled me into this position on purpose.
So I can feel what I do to him.
I looked into his dark eyes and blinked once. He lifted his hand and placed it over my cheek. "Just once." He whispered.
I knew what he wanted and he'd be disappointed that I refuse to give it to him.
"I'm in love with Ellis." I whispered.
"Who are you trying to convince, Karlie? Me or yourself?" He asked. He seemed to sober up only in that moment.
I knew who I was convincing and it wasn't myself. I knew I loved Ellis. "I am in love with him."
"We're friends." I whispered.
He raised his eyebrow "Are you sure about that?" He asked as his hand went down and slipped down my thigh that was hitched around him. Looking into my eyes, he caressed my inner thigh and somehow managed to push his fingers inside of me making me both gasp and moan and that's when I pushed him off.
I got up with fast speed and glared down at him in anger.
He sat up. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please come lay back down."
"No." I grab my heels from off the floor and walk to the door and open it and walk out slamming it behind me.
I'm instantly overtaken by anger and not only by anger, unfortunately because I knew that although Ellis was in my heart, I might just have to make room for Tyler.
They were brothers and its unfair of me to put them both in a position to where I might fall in love with them both but I….don't think I can help it.
I felt lust as he invaded me the way he did but anger because I knew it was wrong.
Now all I had to do was tell Ellis?
Or did he have to know?
