Chapter 11

The sun woke me up this time and I was alone again. I looked to Hunter's side of the bed and saw a piece of paper on his pillow, it was a note.

"Sorry for leaving you alone, but I had a situation at the club. Please wait until I come back. there are some clothes for you in the bathroom and a tooth brush, I put your cell phone on the night table, go to the kitchen and eat whatever you want. I'll see you when I get back.

I took my cell phone and turned it back on, I had three missed calls from Erin, so I called her back.

"Hi Erin" I felt bad for not calling her back "Sorry I forgot to urn my phone back on and I just woke up"

"That's fine" I could hear excitement in her voice, at least it wasn't anything bad "We set a date for the wedding, is October 16"

"What?" I couldn't hide the shock in my voice "That's only a month away"

"I know, but my mom had most of it planned already" I could tell she was happy and I wanted to murder Liam "The reason I called is because I wanted to ask you something"

"Sure, What can I do?"

"I want you to be my maid of honor" I didn't want to be maid of honor for something the would make her miserable, but she was my friend and I couldn't say no "Hello? Chloe?"

"I'm here. Of course, I'll be honored"

"Oh great" she was jumping up and down from the excitement "How about we go shopping for dresses. I still need to find a wedding dress and you need a dress too"

"I thought you had gone shopping with Lora for the wedding dress?"

"I did, but I didn't find anything I liked" I slipped off the bed and walked to the bathroom "How about the shopping trip?"

"Sure, but we'll have to go this afternoon"

"I'm not in my apartment"

"Not in your... Oh my God, are you at Hunters'?" I had underestimated her, she squealed and I couldn't help but smile "Lucky, I'm so happy for you"

"Thanks" what the heck? she was my friend "I'll call you as soon as I get out of here"

"Ok, see you soon"

I put the phone on the bathroom counter and checked the clothes Hunter had left for me. Yoga pants, a tank top and black bra and panties. I could tell they were brand new, he had bought the clothes sometime this morning.

I took a shower, got dressed and went down to the kitchen. I had just finish washing the dishes I used when I heard the front door slammed. Frowning I walked to the living room to see Hunter pacing and had a very angry look on his face.

"Are you ok?" he turned around, apparently he hadn't notice when I walked into the room "What happened?"

"Nothing, just problems at the club" he smiled at me, but I could tell it was forced "Why are you still here?"

"Ummm...your note said for me to wait" it hurt a little bit the fact he forgot he had asked that "Are you sure you are ok?"

"I'm fine" his attitude bother me "If you want I can take you home. I have things to do this morning"

I was being dismissed, just like that. My eyes filled up with tears, but I pushed them back, I'll be damned if I let myself cry in front of him. I was so stupid, thinking that last night had changed things. I was just one more in a long list.

"I have my car" I wanted to pat myself in the back for the cold tone in my voice. I grabbed my phone and purse "Goodbye"

I walked out of his house and got into my car, I wiped the tears off my face. Hunter Stonewell wasn't worth crying over.

Five hours later I was about to fall down. Erin and I had gone to every single bridal shop we could find. She had found a wedding dress she liked and we found a very pretty bridesmaid dress in Erin's favorite color. Now we were sitting at a small cafe having a late lunch.

"I love my dress" Erin couldn't hide her happiness, she was extremely excited about the wedding "and that dress we found for you looks amazing"

"Yeah is very pretty"

"Are you ok?" her sharp eyes looked me over. I had tried to be jolly, but I was failing miserably "and don't lie to me. Is it Hunter?"

"Is nothing to worry about, we just had a disagreement"

"I'm sorry" she patted my hand "Hunter is a little spoiled, especially by woman"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I don't think I've ever see him in a relationship" she looked uncomfortable telling me this and I couldn't blame her "The longer affair he had was with an older woman, but he still slept with other girls, so it wasn't exclusive"

"What woman?"

"I don't know, nobody ever saw them together. The only ones that know who she is are Liam, Joshua and Travis" she gave me an apologetic look "They were together for years"

I felt so stupid, I had been the only that didn't know about the affair. Was that why he had wanted me to leave? I just kept eating and didn't say anything else.

I unlocked the door to my apartment and threw my purse on the kitchen counter, I was exhausted.

My phone rang again and I groaned. I looked at the screen, it was my mother, this was the third time she called me. I finally decided to answer.

"What do you want?"

"You have two hours to get out of my apartment"

"What?" her voice was very hostile "Why?"

"I said you could stay for a couple of months" she laughed "Did you think you were to live at my expense forever?"

"No" I wasn't going to bed, I had enough money to get my own place now "I'll be out tonight"

I ended the call. It was too late to look for an apartment right now, I had to find a motel to stay until I could find a place to live.

I walked to the room where I'd been staying and threw my clothes in the suitcase. after I was sure I had all my belongings I walked out of my mother's apartment, locked the door and put the key under the rug.

I found a modest motel close to the country club, I rented a room for a week so I could have time to look for an apartment.

How had my life gone to hell so fast?
