Chapter Six

Carolyn awakening from her slumber, roused by the sound of a key in the lock. No. I don't want to wake up… there's another man who wants me to… wait… where am I… is it Monday?…are the kid's up?…

Sam and Dale come into the suite carrying numerous parcels, calling hello into the bedroom.

Oh, my God…

Dale striding into the room, placing boxes and shopping bags on the chairs and tables.

"Carolyn, you awake?"

"I am now."

"Do you know how hard it is to find a size 38D bra without tassels at one in the morning?" he asks.

"What? What are you talking about?" Carolyn asks sleepily.

"Never mind. How are you feeling? Refreshed, I hope? We brought back some goodies."

"Oh, yes? Like what?"

"In good time, darlin', in good time."

"Fine. I'm going back to sleep." Pulling the covers over her head.

"Whoa there, girl, I mean, you can sleep if you want to, but, well, you can sleep anytime and our time here is short. Why don't you get up and see if you won't enjoy something else more?"

Umm, because I was having a wonderfully decadent dream and I don't want it to end? Because I've completely degraded myself and am embarrassed to even look at you?

"Go in and have a hot bath. And then we'll have something to eat."

"I have nothing to change into. All my clothes are at my hotel."

"Absolutely not a problem, Carolyn. Sam and I did a little shopping while we were out. 'Course, we had to guess at your sizes, but, ahem, I think we were able to pretty accurately describe you."

Carolyn blushing at this remark.

"Yes, I'm sure. But you shouldn't have gone shopping for me."

"Oh, but we wanted to. I think we covered everything you'll need."

Sam and Dale proudly laying out their purchases. Under garments, dresses, skirts, jeans, tops, blouses, sweaters, shoes, toiletries, matching jewelry. And several swim suits. Carolyn looking at all these things with amazement.

"You guys are crazy. This is the strangest night of my life. I don't know what is happening, I don't know why I did this, I don't even know who I am right now. I can't accept these things. But, thank you."

"Honey, it is we who thank you. And you have to accept these things because we can't return any of it. Now, how about that bath? You just go on in there, take your time. We aren't going anywhere."
