Dru was learning a lot about being alive on the Night God's wish. They hadnt attempted to go after Victor since he almost managed to kill her. But She was ready to go after him now. She knew to wait for Bain's signal though. And on Christmas eve Dru was wrapped around three over heated bodies. Ty and Bain were curled in one another their arms tangled around herself and Blaeze. The demons breath on the back of her neck was a welcome prescence. So much had changed in the past week. She now had a monster shape of hr own, and they were teaching her how to remain in human form and how to control the power of the bat inside her.
With this new beast came an increase in her hunger, but she was able tocontrol hunger easily. She knew hunger. Flight was perhaps her new addicton. Weapons had always calmed her, welcomed her. But when the air kissed her and she flew so high her lungs chilled and her wings ached. It was ecstasy. But second to none to the one thing she discovered after her first flight and hey napped under the stars. She woke to sunlight. A thing she had never experienced before. It still burned her but to a much lesser degree. She needed layers and sunglasses, but she could walk in the light. It was the best thing she had ever experienced. Of course, Blaeze was her favorite, his hunger for her was endless. She had never felt so cared for in her entire life.
As she sat up and stretched in her bed she felt Blaeze wake and looked at his grumpy bleary red eyes. She chuckled before leaning over and kissing the grump away. She felt another hand on her back and looked down to see Bain and Ty awake but tired looking. She smiled and hopped up. "I'm going to eat, and bring you some food. It's about night time, the festival is tonight." She said and left the room to hunt down one of the remaining cooks.
Blaeze rarely got excited about festivals. The few experiences he had with festivals were bad. The few times his parents took Bain and him to a harvest festival usually ended in pitchforks and torches. Running a fear. All because his family wanted them to be normal children. He understood of course, but that didnt make it better. He was always upset to see the way his mother cried after running, because she was relieved they made it away. Or when she was upset they had close calls and they had to split up and run.
But now, with Dru by his side, he was thrilled. Her hands smoothed down his chest where his shirt was unbuttoned halfway and a scarf covered his neck. She looked glorious in her red and black lacy dress. It clung to her curves but she wore black tight leggings under her boots. He knew she was dressed with weaponry. She tocuhed his face and he swooped down claiming her lips in a kiss that had her arms around his neck and their bodies flush together. As he pulled away he saw the swirls of change ebbing form her cheeks. She smiled at him and her eyes flashed. He lifted a small felt box from his pocket and held it out to her. "Merry Christmas Dru." He said. She grinned and took it from him. He tapped a finger on the top to prevent her from opening it. "I've never felt like this Dru, I an feel in my soul that youre what I want. The perfect being to match me, challenge me, and be at my side. I have a hard time asking for things I dont think I deserve. But when I looked at you dying, I knew that I couldnt run from this. Youre my mate Dru, and I want to spend the rest of eternity getting to know you, being with you. Join my pack and go with us to Ireland. Be with me and I swear I will never let you want for anything."
She opened the box and he saw her eyes light up. Inside lay a ring of his dark power. It held a small piece of the chains that now wrapped around his arms when he used his power. It was acutely connected to him, and he could find no other thing that meant so much of him to be given to her. She slipped it onto her ring finger effortlessly and looked at him. She touched his face, and stepped back to her dresser. She lifted a small box of her own and walked over to him. She held it out and caught his wrist. "Blaeze, I've been broken a very long time. Until you came to me an arrogant and sexy vampire throwing yourself on my mercy to help your family. I didnt think I could learn to feel again. But these past two weeks have been one rollercoaster after another. There is no one I would rather spend eternity with than you. You make me feel alive, and I've never really been alive." She leaned in and kissed him. He opened the box and stared down at the amulet, it was the same as her earring, the one that pulsed with the Night Gods gift to her. "I wanted us to match, like Bain and Ty match."
He chuckled and swept her up into his arms."How did I end up with such a beautiful woman. The Universe must favor me." He growled. She laughed and they exited the room. As happy as their stolen moment was they still had to find Victor in the sewars and kill him.
He saw Bain and Ty as they were walking from their room. They smiled at one another and looked at Blaeze and Dru. "So are we ready to kill a bastard vampire?" Ty asked with a dark smirk.
"Hell yes." Dru said with a viscious grin.
"We'll then, let the hunt begin." Bain grinned and they moved down the hall to the coats.
Bain walked through the festival with wide eyes, they had huge poles that sent heat down on the citizens of the town. The small festival was packed with people and they sensed more than one demon and vampire around. But her wolf sensed something big under the ground. They walked around enjoying the festival in the open. She sensed the vampires as they herded then through the citizens. Before long they came to the edge and ten feet into a shaded alleyway was a manhole, open and smoking in the cool air. She smirked and wavd Ty up, "I want you to show no mercy." She said.
"Of course." he lifted her hand and kissed it. "Be safe." He urged and started forward, he jumped down first. Bain leapt down and her eyes adjusted instantly. Dru and Blaeze dropped next. Dru's gun lifted and they scanned the tunnels looking for any vampires.
Laughter rang out from the left and the right. Bain growled and looked to either side. "Come along Ty, Dru Blaeze, you go to the left, be careful." Bain said.
"Either side ends up in the same place." Dru said and nodded. She grabbed Blaeze's arm and they ran off to the left. Bain and Ty looked at one another and she sighed. She surged forward lifting her blue dress with one hand and clenching the other in Ty's hand as they ran as one. The stink was unbearable, but Bain forged forward anyways. They were close, so damn close to the chance to tear Bastian down. They hit a massive open area where Alanna stood her eyes wide and fearful.
"Seems you dont want to fight." Bain said. "I'll let you go if youlet us pass unhindered."
"You cant win, he's old." She said with a slight tremor to her voice. "He's eaten of the elders, and touched with black magic. Victor cant be killed."
"Watch me." Bain hissed. Ty growled and stepped infront of Bain. "Let us pass."
"I cant." She looked up a tear falling form one eye. "I cant step aside."
Bain didnt want to kill someone unwilling to fight, but she would if Alanna didnt move and go away. "You can have your freedom." Ty said, "Were going to end him."
"And if you fail, I will die for letting you go." Alanna looked away. "I have to fight or he will kill me."
With that she lunged for them and Ty batted her away, she sprung back up and ran for Bain. She touched Ty's arm and he stepped aside. Just as the little vampiress grabbed Bain she flipped the vampire over and smashed her into the ground. As she did her body exploded with change into the monster wolf form. She wrapped her jaws around the vampiress' neck. "Please." She begged. "I dont want to die." Bain gave a loud huff and leaned back she grabebd the remains of her dress and handed them to Ty. He tied the sobbing vampiress up. She curled in on herself and Ty looked at her.
"When you feel him die, run and never come back." Ty said.
She nodded and Bain lumbered down the next tunnel. They were held up enough by Alanna. She only hoped Arissa didnt give her twin and Dru trouble.
