Bain woke to an absolute hangover, it had to be. Her heat pounded and her eyes stung when she opened them, though all she could see was a dark room. She sat us dispite her dizziness. She blinked and tried to get a focus on where she was, how she got here. What had happened? She remembered talking to a wolf, which must have been a dream. Then nothing... Bain froze as she felt something shift next to her. She stared down at a massive black wolf that was sleeping. Or not, as it lifted its big head to gaze at her. She gasped as she looked into it's wide unnatural blue eyes. It stared at her then shifted. She jerked back and it stood up, towering high above her head, though she was sitting. It tilted its head to the ground and growled. She made to run, but the sound of bones snapping and grunts of pain made her stop, the canine sounds morphed into those of a humans.
Bain was left looking at the sight of a man, naked and shaking in front of her. He was crouched and panting raggedly, he'd changed from the wolf. She watched his black hair slide into his eyes, then he looked at her, that eerie blue sinking deep into her soul. She did the only thing she could. She screamed. And it wasn't the least bit polite, it was a bloodcurdling shriek that had her scrambling up and trying to run. But she tripped. As she made for the ground she was caught, a strong arm around her waist, the naked man lookign at her intensly.
And man was he sexy, his face sculpted like a god, perfection to the eyes. He was ripped too, judging by what she was pressed against, abs, pecs, biceps. Then she flushed heavily and he blinked, a slow smile spreading his damn kissable lips. She was attracted to her kidnapper. Goodbye sanity, hello stockholme syndrome. "What's going on?" That voice, she knew it. It was the wolf's voice. So that part wasnt a dream, Bain frowned angrily at that. She wanted this to all be a bad dream and she;d be awake at her hotel/apartment room.
"I've got it Missy." The man spoke then seemed to realize he was naked, he helped her up and scrambled to dress. She kept her eyes glued on the wall of what she learned was a huge tent. A light above clicked on, a lantern, and it illuminated the room. She saw the tent had a rug on the floor, and huge pillows and cusions covered the floor. She watched the man as he sat to lace his boots. He wore a black shirt now and a pair of blue jeans, she saw how ripped he was just by the size of his arms, the swell of his pecs. She felt herself flush and when he looked up that slow smirk appeared again.
"Why did you kidnap me?" She asked.
"Kidnapping would imply you are a child." He smirked again, "And you havent been a child for a long time Bain."
"How do you know my name?"
"I know everything about you." He answered then frowned as it that were a bad answer.
"Who are you?" She demanded.
"My name is Tyrian Marrowsson." He spoke. That name was familiar, surely she'd heard it before. "You can call me Ty."
Her heart thumped in pain suddenly, she looked at him in shock, how did she know his name? Why did it hurt to think about that anem, why was she feeling loss and pain? She shook her head to clear it and looked at him again. He sighed and turned to stand, her eyes caught something that hung from his neck, an amulet, her eyes widened as she saw it. An exact copy of her own, she darted forward to examine it, his hand closed over it as she drew closer. "Where did you get that?" She demanded harshly. She'd looked for the maker or atleast another necklace like hers. That one was an exact copy with a different jewel in the center. Where her's was red, his was black.
"You gave it to me, a very long time ago." He said.
"How long?" She demanded.
"Well, in this era you would call it the middle ages, right about the hight of that era." He said, she felt her mind reel at that, it was a lie. But why did it reing true in her heart. She stumbled out of the tent and found herself smack dab in the middle of a forest. She was shocked. She felt the air breeze into her hair and she stopped. She felt the forest around her like a home that called to her. In the town she felt stifled, trapped. For some reason here she wanted to run, not to escape, but to let the forest guide her into it's heart. Where civilization didnt exist.
"Bain." She looked down to see the wolf, Missy, lean on her leg. "Come, let's sit and talk."
Bain sat on a log and forced herself to sit and remain quiet, forcing her mind to stop trying o go out into the forest that begged her to come to it. To return. "Why did you kidnap me?"She demanded.
"Your life is in danger Bain." The wolf flopped at her feet and looked up. "We couldnt sit by and watch your enemies get the better of you, they found a loop hole that not only breaks the rules, but leaves them intact where you are concerned."
"What do you mean?" Bain blinked. She didnt like the idea of being targeted for any reason. Ty growled and looked at her.
"You made a deal a very long time ago to stop your enemies. And the deal has been held but tested a few times. Every time you regain a few memories and call us to you, but this time. This time your enemies have found a loop hole one that can hurt you and you will never know how or why. I wont let that happen." Ty punched the log beneath him and it crunched under his fist. Missy snored.
"We need you to remember Bain, you need to or you wont be able to protect yourself where we cannot." Missy murmured. "Let me try something."
Bain looked at the wolf who watched her. "Close your eyes and touch the dirt, try to feel what you did when you realized you were in the forest."
Bain inhaled and did as she was bid, more out of curiostiy than anythig else. She dug her hands into the dirt and closed her eys, listeninig to the sounds of the forest. "Feel it Bain, the forest is your home, yours to command. Remember." Missy spoke. Bain felt it the earth was ahppy, it's joy sang up her arms, she was the child of the moon and the earth, it loved it's children, the right ones that didnt abuse it. She cried out in happiness but it came out as a yip. She blinked her eyes open to see silver paws in front of her in the dirt. She backed up and looked into the reflective side of a cooler. She stood there, a silver wolf with icy blue eyes just like Ty's, she backd up into arms that circled her thick neck. She looked to see Ty there, his eyes watching her.
Her head started to pound, and she tilted, fallingover. "Bain! Wait up!" That was Ty's laughing voice.
"No way! You'll have to catch me first!" That was her voice. She did know them, she felt the trust for Ty in her heart right along with the feeling of betrayal and loss. She blinked at him just before she fell unconsious.
