The Legend of the Demon Wolf and his Moon Princess:
Once eons ago, the Demon Wolf inspired fear and respect from demon and wolf kin alike. Humans feared his wrath would fall upon them so they built their villages away from his land. Away from his forest, and in respect of that the wolves were left alone as well. For millenia's the three races lived in harmony. He was a fearsom beast, conquring demons before they did irreperable harm to others. He was a monster famed for his ruthless nature.
Until a woman stumbled into his forest. She was the daughter of the Moon Goddess, the Moon Princess. Her gentle nature was coveted by all so she was protected by the Children of the Goddess. Her creations, the wolves, they raised and cared for the Moon Princess. But her passion was finally found by the Demon Wolf in his act of care that set her back outside his dominion. Enthralled and in love at first sight she returned again and again to see the Demon Wolf. Their love was bright, and blessed by the Moon Goddess herself.
But not all accepted their fated union. The Wolf King was jealous, for he had wanted the Moon Princess for his mate. It was from the Wolf King that the wolves became famed for their dark nature. He stole the Moon Princess on the day of her wedding and flung her into the sky, for if he could not have her no one would. The Demon Wolf wrought over her loss he chased to moon, hoping to see a glimpse of his one true love.
One hundred years passed when he finally died, his will and his power depleted. He wept for the loss of his beautiful bride and died. The Moon Princess enraged and despaired by his death begged her mother the Goddess to give him new life, and in that respect reincarnate both her and the Demon Wolf, so that they could meet again. The Goddess, accepted.
